At LOOKIE Atelier, we specialize in custom-made footwear – according to measurements, taking into account the wishes and individual characteristics of the foot. This format allows us to create pairs that are not only true to size, but also truly comfortable, durable, and visually accurate to your request.

We work with clients all over the world, making models from our collections or customizing them for special events or non-standard sizes.

How does the sewing process work?

The process of making shoes to order consists of several stages:

Correct foot measurements

At this stage, we ask the client to take measurements according to our instructions. It is important to provide us with the following measurements:

– length of the foot

– width at the widest point;

– height of the lift;

– ankle and/or calf circumference (for boots);

– height – for the correct calculation of proportions in models with a freebie.

These parameters allow us to adjust the pad and patterns according to the provided measurements.

Creating a concept

Next, we work with you to choose a model from our collections and agree on

– type and model of shoes (ballet flats, sandals, shoes, boots)

– desired fit, details, decor;

– purpose – for everyday, event, wedding, etc;

– comfort preferences (presence of a footbed, type of sole, etc.).

Based on this, we offer the best option – combining aesthetics and functionality.

Choice of materials

We work with Italian leather, genuine suede, sometimes with embossed leather or metallic. Upon request, we can use eco-friendly materials. You choose:

– material of the shoe upper;

– color and texture;

– embroidery, ribbons, crystals, and accessories.

Intermediate fitting of shoes

Since custom-made shoes are non-refundable, we have introduced an additional step – an interim fitting. This allows you to check how well the pair fits you and make adjustments in time. For the most part, all pairs for individual tailoring go through this stage. The only exceptions are urgent pairs.

1. Send the model for fitting

At this stage, the client receives a mock-up of a pair of shoes – a preliminary model sewn with an adjusted insole and patterns. The shoe already has the correct basic parameters – shape, length, completeness and placement of the upper elements – and allows you to feel the fit and comfort.

2. You try on a pair

During the fitting, the client should evaluate the fit, length, fullness, and overall feeling of the pair. If everything is perfect, we start the final sewing. If there are comments, we need to:

– Provide clear comments on what needs to be changed.

 – Attach photos or videos that show exactly what needs to be adjusted (for example, point to areas that rub, press, or don’t fit well).

 – Send back the fitting pair with your comments.

3. We are processing the comments

After receiving the layout and your comments, the technologist reviews the pair and all the information provided. If clarifications are needed, the manager asks additional questions in the same communication channel as the dialog with the client.

Based on the feedback, we re-adjust the pad and patterns, taking into account every nuance. And only then do we move on to creating the final shoe.

Formats of cooperation:

– We work with clients remotely – we send detailed instructions for taking measurements.

– In Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia, fittings are possible if the model is complex or it is a wedding order.

– The term of sewing women’s shoes is from 6 to 14 days, depending on the complexity of the pair and the workload of the workshop.

– With individual tailoring, we conduct an intermediate fitting. We send a mockup of the pair, taking into account the measurements and changes in the pad and patterns. The client tries it on, provides a photo or video with comments, after which we make final adjustments and start sewing. This allows us to achieve the perfect fit.

– The prices of custom-made shoes depend on the model, materials and level of individualization. For reference, tailoring models from our collections costs the same as ready-made shoes.
